Lisa Ferguson’s artwork is heavily influenced by the beautiful surroundings of her
home in Hartington, Ontario. She draws inspiration from the vast forests, lakes
and wildlife that reside right outside her front door. Rooted in her background of
illustration, her work is strongly focused on composition and rhythmical line. She
uses soft, earthy tones to convey the spirit of her surrounding environment.
After honing her technique over many years, Lisa’s illustrations are now featured
in a local children’s picture book as well as greeting cards in stores around the
province. She has beautifully merged her love of nature and art in a way that
feels authentic and close to home.
Lisa’s illustrations are rendered primarily in watercolour paint, graphite pencil and
charcoal on heavy, cold-pressed watercolour paper. Many also include pastel,
coloured pencil, gold leaf, gold ink and black ink.
