Wild Art Walk 2025

Enjoy a fall walk through the woods with a twist. The Wild Art Walk is an outdoor art show on a nature trail. The Wild Art Walk has two parts. A one-day exhibit that happens on October 4th as part of the Battersea Pumpkin Festival, as well as a month-long exhibit with installations set up on the trail for the whole month of October. Nearly 20 both professional artists and creative tinkers are participating in a variety of mediums- large sculpture, site-specific installations, paintings and more. Art pieces interwoven into the natural elements of the trail make for a surprising and inspiring walk through this already magical nature reserve area. Find the beautiful and the unusual.

The one-day exhibit on Oct. 4th is set up on the first 800m of the trail starting from the Battersea Rd trailhead.

The month-long installations are spread out along the whole 3km trail which is a loop and takes about 45 minutes or more to walk. The terrain ranges from easy to moderately hilly and uneven.

Happy Sluggishem

Happy Sluggishem is a local artist and former student of Joanne Gervais. She doesn’t have live chickens – they wouldn’t fit in her Kingston, Ontario apartment and they often come with complications. To compensate, she has created a flock of all-nonsense, no mess chicks, each with their own unique personality. Rendered in oils, acrylics, and markers, her chicken portraits often depict young chickens who haven’t quite grown into their adult feathers and are not quite sure of their life-goals. Happy invites you to take one of these neurotic creatures home with you in the form of a painting, print, magnet, or decoupaged jewelry box. They are guaranteed to enhance your space and give your guests something to laugh about. Perfect for maximalists, animal lovers and the young at heart.
