Artist’s Bio
Valerie is a landscape painter who passionately conveys her personal experiences as she recreates the visual splendor of rural Ontario. She hikes year-round and spends her summers on the water exploring the wetlands of the Canadian Shield. She feels driven to document the ever-diminishing Ontario wilderness as reflected in her realistic interpretations of its landscapes. The thoughtful application of acrylics onto her canvas demonstrates her fascination with reflections, movement, texture, colour variations, and water transparency. Valerie is always excited when nature presents the perfect composition to photograph for reference to be recreated in her studio, near Kingston Ontario.
